Set the Night Singing #2.15

Updated: Oct 12

So dear, since birth,

the little friend

together wrapped

inside this skin

with one to judge

with elder eye

the weight of deeds

as days go by.

So wise - so kind

so gentle be,

as though that child

were yet on knee.

Now grown, she holds

the pain of life.

Though grown, she still

discerns how strife

lays on the outside

so much heat -

as rays of sun

into her beat.

So gentle with this baby be,

this world, discern, ego of me.
