Set the Night Singing #2.6

Updated: Sep 14

The warbler lights at dawn to sing

of love, of news - everything.

Be strong the sun or swift the rain,

he grips his limb and drives back pain.

One tiny teacup, softest down,

one whiskery beak, one jeweled crown

one raspy song, one perching tree,

are charms enough to set me free.
