Witching the Stars #55

Updated: Nov 1

How sweet the days,

for crying’s sake,

to tumble into

parents' arms.

How sharper now

the sorrow tastes

without a child’s

soothing charms.

Tales whispered in

the bleak of night

ring happy-ended,

merry-sailed.

But after fifty

thousand nights

the strength of dark

appears unveiled.

Solace, yet,

is to be found,

if not in lies,

then liberty.

And so in firelit

caverns deep,

I listen -

darkness teaches me.
